Egypt's military arrests presidential hopeful Sami Anan

The only remaining potential threat to the re-election of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi has been detained by the military.

Former military chief of staff Sami Anan formally declared his intention to run as a presidential candidate in the March elections on Saturday. He is just the latest in a string of candidates who have been forced to withdraw from the race.
