Interior Minister Thomas de Maiziere spoke about the latest report on asylum seekers and refugees in Germany during 2017 at a press conference in Berlin on Tuesday.

De Maiziere began by saying that while the crisis of 2015 and 2016 was overcome, last year's estimated number of 185,000 refugees is "way too high." According to him, it is important to continue with the successful deportation of people considered a threat to the country.
