Several dead as gunmen attack top hotel in Kabul

A group of gunmen have attacked the Intercontinental Hotel in Kabul, Afghanistan's capital. The Interior Ministry has confirmed that the hotel came under attack at around 9 pm local time Saturday and there were four attackers, but could not provide additional details. Afghan Special Forces arrived at the hotel in response to the attack and shot at least two of the attackers. Six people are wounded so far and several people have been killed, but the exact number of casualties is unknown. No one has claimed responsibility for the attack. One witness said the attackers took some hotel staff and guests hostage.
