Cycle of Military Violence Repeats in Myanmar

Recent accounts of brutality by the Myanmar military on the ethnic Rohingya have stunned many, but the army has a long history of violence toward the ethnic civilian population, who they have often accused of supporting armed ethnic groups fighting for control over resources and land within the country.
