Iraq: West Mosul still looks like 'middle of a war zone' - HRW

Human Rights Watch (HRW) Senior Iraq Researcher Belkis Wille stated that "the project of rebuilding Mosul is a long one," when speaking in reaction to a recent Ruptly report from Mosul, in Baghdad on Monday.

Wille noted that while life in "neighbourhoods to the outskirts of West Mosul" is starting to take on a "semblance of normalcy," the recovery work in the centre of West Mosul, the Old City, "has barely begun" and the city still looks like "the middle of a war zone."
