Germany: 'We don't see emissions manipulation' - BMW after HQ raids

German car manufacturer BMW denied 'test bench manipulation' during its annual report in Munich on Wednesday when responding to questions regarding the public prosecutors' raid on its headquarters in the Bavarian capital on Tuesday.

More than 100 investigators searched the head office of BMW as part of the public prosecutor's probe into fraudulent emissions testing among German carmakers.

BMW Group denies it engaged in targeted manipulation of diesel emissions control, the same scandal which has engulfed Volkswagen. It blames the recall of 11,400 vehicles on faulty software.

"The motor then has thousands of labels. Some of labels out of thousands in the computer controlling system were confused," explained Klaus Froehlich, a member of the company's board.
