Syria opposition, civilians evacuate Eastern Ghouta

Residents of ravaged Eastern Ghouta in Syria were preparing for a new round of evacuations from the opposition-held territory on March 25. Russia mediated negotiations with opposition groups on withdrawals from areas they previously controlled. The deal aims to see around 7,000 people bussed to opposition-held territory in northern Syria. At least 107,000 civilians have fled amid a government offensive, according to state media. About 70 percent of Eastern Ghouta is in the hands of the government.
