UK: British govt. holds Cobra emergency meeting over Sergei Skripal incident

British Home Secretary Amber Rudd chaired a meeting of the government's Cobra emergency security committee in London on Wednesday, during which ministers were informed about the suspected poisoning of a Russian former spy and his daughter.

Downing Street Press Secretary James Slack, MP Elizabeth Truss and other officials were seen arriving at the Cabinet Office in 70 Whitehall for the meeting.

The Cobra committee met as counterterrorism police investigate the suspected poisoning of 66-year old Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia. They were both found slumped on a bench in Salisbury on Sunday.
