SOT, Yuri Yevtushenko, Head of the Russian Centre for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides in the Syrian Arab Republic (Russian): "Today the operation to escort irreconcilable militants of Jaysh al-Islam rebel faction from the city of Douma is getting underway. A number of the western countries are taking some counter-informational actions to thwart this operation. In pursuit for this, the western countries are exploiting their favourite narrative about the use of the chemical weapon by the governmental forces of Syria. A number of the so-called independent non-governmental organizations, including the 'White helmets' which became widely known due to its fake news. The 'White helmets' claimed that yesterday the Syrian armed forces dropped a bomb laden with chlorine in Douma. We firmly deny this information and express our readiness to send the Russian experts in the radiation, chemical and biological protection immediately after Douma's liberation from militants to collect information which will prove that these claims are fabricated. The humanitarian corridor in the residential area of Muhajam al Wafedin continues to operate in order to ensure the safe exit from the city of Douma for citizens."

Speaking from Ghouta on Sunday, Head of the Russian Centre for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides in the Syrian Arab Republic Yuri Yevtushenko strongly rejected claims by the 'White Helmets' volunteer non-governmental organization suggesting that on April 7th the Syrian armed forces "dropped a bomb laden with chlorine in Douma."
