USA: US, UK and France to coordinate response to alleged Syria chemical attack - State Dept

US State Department spokesperson Heather Nauert said that the United States has discussed the country's response to the alleged chemical weapon attack in Syria with the UK and France during a briefing in Washington DC on Tuesday.

"We are looking for a coordinated response, whatever that response might be, to the situation in Syria", she said.

"We do know that some sort of a substance was used, a chemical was used. We’re just not sure at this point today exactly what was used" Nauert added.

On Saturday the 'White Helmet' organisation and other groups alleged that chemical-filled munitions were dropped over Douma on April 7 which led to the deaths of up to 70 people. Damascus has called the claims a "fabrication."
