Aerial footage shows lava and toxic gas spewing from the 16th and 20th fissures on Hawaii's Big Island on Monday, after the eruption of Kilauea Volcano on May 3rd set off a chain of volcanic vents opening up on the island.

Explosions increased on Hawaii's Kilauea volcano on Tuesday, expelling ash and sparking a red alert for aviation for the first time since the latest eruption started 12 days ago.

The Kilauea volcano in Hawaii has sputtered lava for days, forcing thousands of local residents to evacuate and destroying some dozens of homes.
